Spiders: Have 8 legs, the most common types in Connecticut are: 'Grass Spiders", Wolf Spider, Black Widow, False Black Widow, various types of 'Orbweavers', Garden Spiders, Bold Jumper, Zebra Jumper, the Common House Spider, and many others. Centipedes: (House Centipede) Long and flat. Can be 1 to 1 and 1/2 inches long, and 15 pairs of long legs, also long antennae. The color is gray/yellow. Other common types in Ct are: Bark Centipedes, Cryptopid Centipede (both brownish colored).

Females are usually the larger ones seen. Sometimes the female will lack wings. The color of cockroaches tends to be a darker, brownish color. Common types in Ct: American Cockroach, Brown-Hooded Cockroach (more rounded) , German Cockroach, Western Wood Cockroach, and Cuban Cockroach (green in color).

Can look like little white ants. Found in damp, rotting wood. Common types in Ct: Subterranean termites.

Tend to be smaller insects. They vary in color from black, brown, or red. They have 6 legs, antennae, a head, thorax, and abdomen. Common types in Ct: Black Carpenter Ant (larger), Carpenter Ant (Brownish), Red pavement Ant/Fire Ant (smaller), Cow Killer (very poisonous, bright red, and very large, not as common)

Small bugs about 3/16"(adult size). They are a red or brownish color, and have flattened, oval bodies. Can sometimes look like ticks, carpet beetles, or cockroaches.

Usually 1/16 to 1/8 inch in size. Typically a red, brown, black, or darker color. They do not have wings. Common types: Cat flea, Dog flea (tend to be darker), and bird flea (a reddish-yellow color).

They can be a brownish, blackish, or grayish color. Their tails tend to be naked, and are usually longer than their bodies. Common types in Ct: Norway/Brown Rat, Black Rat.

They are typically smaller in size, the snout is pointed. Their tails are usually about the same size as their bodies. Common types in Ct: White-footed Mouse,Deer Mouse, as well as some others
